В своих заявлениях Силва объяснил, почему Евлоев не должен получить этот шанс: «Если он станет чемпионом, это будет опасно для дивизиона. Насколько я помню, у него было около десятка отменённых боёв. У меня же есть всё, что нужно UFC – идеальная формула. Это не просто битва за пояс. Независимо от соперника, главное – обеспечить зрелище, и я всегда это делаю. Я здесь именно для этого, и никто не делает это лучше меня».
«Если Мовсар завладеет поясом, дивизион немедленно погрузится в застой, – продолжает Силва. – Он не достоин титульного боя. Хватит этой ерунды. Давайте устроим настоящий поединок, а не 25 минут уклонений от тейкдаунов».
Силва даже готов поставить на кон свою карьеру, заявив, что покинет UFC, если проиграет Волкановски.

In his statements, Silva elaborated on why Evloev should not get this opportunity: “It would be a dangerous undertaking if he became champion. As far as I recall, he’s had around ten or eleven canceled fights. I, on the other hand, have everything UFC needs – the ideal formula. Understand that this is more than just a fight for the belt. Regardless of the opponent, the main thing is to provide entertainment, and I always deliver that. I am here for this, and no one does it better than me.”
“If Movsar gets the belt, the division will immediately stagnate,” Silva continued. “He doesn’t deserve a title fight. Enough of this nonsense. Let’s have a real fight, not 25 minutes of defending takedowns.”
Silva is even willing to put his career on the line, stating he will leave the UFC if he loses to Volkanovski.
