Boxing legend Ricky Hatton recently surprised fans by revealing a dramatic new appearance on Instagram. The former light-welterweight and welterweight world champion shared photos online, including one where he posed alongside Sky Sports walk-on girl and TV presenter Jade Slusarczyk.
Hatton, known as `The Hitman`, was sporting a freshly shaved head. Photos showed him with sunglasses tucked into his black t-shirt, holding a pint of Guinness. The British icon, who holds a professional record of 45 wins and 3 losses, was attending the `Blowfest` event in Blackpool.
Ricky had previously announced that he was shaving his head for charity. He was raising money for the Brain House Children`s Hospice, a cause he highlighted in a previous Instagram post before his haircut.
Sharing the picture with Jade Slusarczyk, Hatton captioned it: “Brilliant couple of days in Blackpool at #blowfest @vivablackpool Good to see you again @jade_slu Brilliant time & laugh. X”
A friend commented on the reaction to his new look, stating, “There were a few people who had to do a double take when they saw him as he looked a bit different.” The friend added, “But the new style really suits him and he’s looking and feeling great.”
The friend also mentioned that Ricky “had a brilliant time in Blackpool and is looking forward to lots more partying and travelling over the summer.”
In retirement, Ricky remains active, touring globally for speeches and after-dinner events, and continues to train and manage boxers. He recently separated from actress Claire Sweeney but they remain good friends.
The source close to Hatton concluded that Ricky is “loving life, having fun and just enjoying himself,” noting that he has found contentment in retirement by staying busy after his dedicated career.
Hatton on Dubois vs. Usyk Rematch
Earlier, Hatton shared his thoughts on a potential rematch between Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk. Commenting on Daniel Dubois`s recent victory over Anthony Joshua, Hatton suggested it would boost Dubois`s confidence significantly for another fight against Usyk. He described their first encounter as “a good fight with a bit of controversy,” noting that Dubois seemed to hurt Usyk.
Hatton acknowledged Usyk`s status, stating, “The fact Oleksandr Usyk has beaten Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, he deserves to be the number one in the division.” However, he added, “But if I had to bet my house, I wouldn’t say it’s a foregone conclusion, especially with Daniel’s confidence.”
