The Japanese combat sports star might be considering a return to his kickboxing roots.
Japanese combat sports sensation Tenshin Nasukawa might be making a comeback to kickboxing. Chatri Sityodtong has indicated that Nasukawa is exploring opportunities within ONE Championship. Nasukawa, once regarded as one of kickboxing`s pound-for-pound elite, retired from the sport in 2022 to transition into professional boxing.
Since then, he has amassed an undefeated 7-0 boxing record, including two knockout victories, and is reportedly set to challenge Takuma Inoue for the vacant WBC title later this year. While intriguing boxing matchups, such as a bout with fellow kickboxing convert Yoshiki Takei or a potential superfight against Naoya Inoue, could keep Tenshin occupied, a return to kickboxing remains a distinct possibility.
This potential comeback was hinted by Sityodtong himself during a discussion with YouTuber Coach Nay regarding ONE`s expansion in Thailand, suggesting a future where Nasukawa could once again grace the kickboxing ring.
