Conor McGregor Confirms UFC Comeback: “Saving Fighting Again”

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has issued a strong statement regarding the imminent announcement of his return to the octagon.

McGregor’s last appearance in the UFC Octagon was nearly five years ago, at UFC 264, where he sustained a severe leg injury against Dustin Poirier just minutes into the fight, casting significant doubt on his future career.

He was subsequently scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 but withdrew due to a toe injury sustained during training camp. Two years after that cancellation, McGregor now appears determined to end his extended hiatus and make his long-awaited return.

With Chandler recently booked for the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event, McGregor’s next opponent remains unconfirmed. Speculation has linked him to a potential bout with former BMF titleholder Max Holloway, who recently lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326.

Furthermore, multiple MMA sources suggest that McGregor is a strong candidate to headline the UFC’s International Fight Week event this summer.

McGregor Fuels Comeback Rumors with Confident Social Media Post

In a recent Instagram post, McGregor appeared to confirm the circulating rumors about his potential return at UFC International Fight Week in July.

In a characteristically boisterous message, McGregor declared, “The rumours are true! Mr. Confidence returns to save fighting again!” He expressed supreme confidence, stating his fights are “easy peezy” and promising “divine magic.” He also made a direct mention of Paramount Plus, hinting at future collaborations. His full statement conveyed his readiness and conviction that he is destined for greatness in the sport.

As of now, the UFC has not made an official announcement regarding McGregor’s opponent or the date of his much-anticipated return. He aims to secure his first victory since defeating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.
