Hours before the much-anticipated heavyweight clash between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora, a significant dispute over boxing gloves nearly led to the fight’s cancellation.
The bout, deemed a crucial event in the heavyweight division and possibly the culmination of Chisora’s career, faced jeopardy due to technical issues with the boxing gloves. Promoter Kalle Sauerland verified the escalation at the weigh-in, acknowledging “dramas” and “issues around the gloves.”
