Dustin Poirier Claims Islam Makhachev Weighed 7kg More at UFC 302

In the summer of 2024, during the main event of UFC 302, veteran lightweight Dustin Poirier delivered a formidable performance against the P4P leader and reigning champion, Islam Makhachev, ultimately succumbing to a late-round submission.

Poirier recently appeared as a guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where he shared his observations regarding Makhachev’s physical presence during their bout. He notably expressed his surprise, stating, “He was huge!”

Poirier went on to claim that, in his estimation, Islam Makhachev weighed approximately 7 kilograms (about 15.4 pounds) more than him on fight day. This perceived weight difference has since sparked considerable discussion among fans and analysts alike.
