Harlem Eubank Targets Jack Catterall After Cousin Chris Jr.’s Triumph Over Benn

Harlem Eubank is preparing to challenge and defeat Jack Catterall, another key fighter promoted by Eddie Hearn.

Eubank watched with admiration as his cousin, Chris Eubank Jr., secured a victory against Conor Benn in their highly anticipated second-generation bout in April.

Now, the undefeated welterweight is set to travel to Catterall`s home city of Manchester this Saturday for a fight promoted by Hearn.

The 31-year-old Eubank shared with SunSport that this is the kind of moment he has “dreamed about.”

“I`ve stated that I believe he`s the top fighter on the Matchroom roster. He has a track record of beating former world champions,” Eubank said. “I believe he was close to undisputed status not long ago, and that`s where I aim to be. These are the types of fights I need to get there.”

“This presents the perfect opportunity to step into the ring and showcase my capabilities in the sport,” Eubank explained. “This is what we work towards daily in the gym – the chance to go into a top fighter`s territory and claim the win.”

“It`s going to be a memorable night, and I`ve specifically prepared for this kind of challenge,” he added. “This is why I entered boxing – to face the best and test myself against them. That moment is almost here.”

Catterall famously missed out on becoming the undisputed super-lightweight champion in 2022 after losing a widely disputed split decision to Josh Taylor.

He won their rematch later but without any belts on the line, and then suffered a defeat to Arnold Barboza Jr. in February.

He now moves up to the 147lb welterweight division for a straightforward showdown against the undefeated Eubank (21-0). Eubank stated, “I`m a genuine fighter.”

“I`m not interested in creating artificial drama or claiming I`ll knock someone out unless I genuinely believe I will follow through on my words,” he said. “And I sense Jack is similar. Jack is a true fighter; he has experience, he`s performed, and he`s proven himself at the world level.”

“I won`t engage in anything artificial. If it`s authentic back-and-forth, I`m open to it. Most importantly, I`m ready to step in there, perform, and deliver an emphatic display.”
