Undefeated in his professional career, Hyu intends to maintain his flawless record with a decisive performance this Friday night.
The 23-year-old Japanese sensation is scheduled to face Suablack Tor Pran49 in a flyweight kickboxing contest at ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis. This event will be broadcast live in U.S. primetime on Prime Video, originating from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 13.
“I anticipate establishing a dominant position within the very first minute,” stated the fighter representing Team Mehdi Zatout and TEAM3K. “My training has been specifically geared towards this, and I am currently in excellent physical condition. My clear intention is to secure a finish in the opening round.”
The unbeaten athlete from Osaka has delivered impressive performances across his four ONE Championship appearances, extending his perfect professional record to 12-0. His journey includes stoppages against Leandro Miranda and Zakaria El Jamari, and a notable comeback from adversity to finish Jordan Estupinan in the third round at ONE Fight Night 35 last September. This impactful display not only earned him a US$50,000 performance bonus but also unequivocally signaled his serious contender status within the division.
Suablack represents a significant step up in competition. The NP Suablack affiliate boasts an impressive 62 career victories and has forged a reputation for sharp technical striking, exceptional fight IQ, and devastating finishing power. His path to this prominent stage was paved by four consecutive knockout victories on the ONE Friday Fights platform, which subsequently earned him a lucrative six-figure contract.
Hyu has meticulously studied his opponent, formulating a precise tactical game plan.
“His defensive capabilities are quite good,” Hyu observed. “He’s not merely throwing punches; he’s actively considering his opponent’s potential targets even while he’s attacking. He operates as an outside boxer and is also known for employing significant strategic thought during his fights.”
However, Hyu believes that this very intelligence has its limitations. He has identified Suablack’s left straight as his primary offensive weapon and noted a particular back-weighted stance that he perceives as a clear vulnerability, offering distinct angles for attack.
This prodigy, who transitioned from karate to kickboxing, has built his fighting philosophy around reading opponent patterns in real-time. His exceptional sense of distance is the weapon he trusts above all others.
“I can interpret my opponent’s attacking sequences and construct my game plan dynamically during the fight,” he explained. “While he is physically very solid, I am determined to apply my characteristic pressure.”
His concluding statement was delivered with direct and unwavering conviction.
“I will not allow him to escape.”
