Islam Youssef kicked off his PFL tenure with a spectacular knockout victory.
In the opening round of the PFL MENA bantamweight quarter-finals on Friday, Youssef unleashed a remarkable flying kick that connected with a retreating Benyamin Ghahreman, resulting in a dramatic finish on the canvas.
As Ghahreman attempted to regain his feet, Youssef gave him no opportunity to recover, chasing him towards the perimeter of the cage. Ghahreman tried to circle away, but this movement brought him directly into the path of Youssef’s airborne strike. The kick landed flush on Ghahreman`s head. Youssef followed up with several hard hammer fists before the official stoppage occurred at 3:56 of the second round.
Despite coming in over the weight limit (officially weighing 137.3 pounds on Thursday), Youssef has secured his spot and will now advance to the semi-finals of the PFL MENA 135-pound tournament.
This win marked Youssef`s successful PFL debut, improving his professional mixed martial arts record to 6-2. He is currently on a five-fight winning streak, extending back to his most recent loss in 2021.
