Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions Unveils New Women’s Boxing League, MVPW, Featuring Top Stars

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), co-founded by Jake Paul, has taken a significant step in bolstering women’s boxing with the launch of its dedicated platform, MVPW. This initiative aims to provide a more prominent and consistent stage for the sport’s female athletes, showcasing many of MVP’s leading fighters.

The MVPW series is set to commence on April 5th in London with its inaugural event, MVPW1. The main event will feature a lightweight unification clash between British talents Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper, promising a strong start to what MVP hopes will become a premier global platform for women’s boxing.

MVP currently boasts a roster of 43 female fighters, including several world champions and top contenders. Seven-division world champion Amanda Serrano is a standout name, having been instrumental in MVP’s efforts to elevate women’s boxing through high-profile matchups.

The introduction of MVPW is supported by new broadcast agreements designed to broaden its viewership. Fans in the United States will be able to watch events on ESPN, while those in the United Kingdom can tune in via Sky Sports.

Jake Paul and MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian reiterated their long-standing commitment to supporting female athletes. They stated that MVPW represents a crucial progression in creating more opportunities for women fighters and delivering captivating bouts for boxing enthusiasts.

While described as a “league,” the precise operational structure of MVPW is still being detailed. It is anticipated that fighters will continue to vie for titles sanctioned by traditional bodies like the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF, rather than operating within a closed system akin to the UFC.

Bidarian clarified that the project’s core focus remains on the athletes themselves, rather than introducing new championship belts. The promotion’s objective is to assemble the best available talent while collaborating with the sport’s established governing organizations.

Upcoming events include a rematch on May 30th in El Paso, Texas, where WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han will face Holly Holm. Their initial encounter concluded in a technical decision due to an accidental head clash.

Another significant bout scheduled for April 17th in New York will see unified super-featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner defend her WBO, WBA, and IBF titles against Bo Mi Re Shin.

With a roster brimming with champions and promising contenders, MVPW stands as one of the most ambitious undertakings in recent memory to establish a robust, consistent global platform dedicated to women’s professional boxing.
