Jon Jones Cryptically Hints at Tom Aspinall Fight Agreement

Jon Jones has suggested that a fight against Tom Aspinall is already finalized.

The current UFC heavyweight champion hasn`t competed since his knockout victory over Stipe Miocic in November at UFC 309.

Since that fight, Jones has been discussing a title unification match with interim champion Tom Aspinall.

Over 150,000 fans, frustrated by Jones`s perceived reluctance to accept the fight, signed a petition demanding he be stripped of his title. However, his recent comments suggest this action might not be needed.

Jon Jones Asked About Fighting Tom Aspinall

On Saturday, Jon Jones gave a brief hint implying he might not fight in 2025.

Less than a day later, the widely considered greatest MMA fighter reignited fan hopes.

Jones, known as `Bones`, recently responded to fan inquiries after conducting a large seminar in Phuket.

As expected, a fan queried: “When will you fight Tom?”

Jones avoided a direct reply, but his comments indicate a potential agreement.

“I anticipated that question,” he stated when the subject of the Aspinall fight arose.

“The UFC, myself, and Tom are all involved in many ongoing discussions privately.”

“They are a major sports organization. Currently, Tom and I have decided to wait for the UFC to officially announce details.”

“Therefore, legally I am unable to discuss it further.”

Fans React to Jon Jones`s Cryptic Fight Announcement

UFC enthusiasts commented on the widely shared video regarding Jon Jones`s hint about fight news.

“Wow, I knew it!” one fan posted. While another commented, “It definitely needs to happen by November at Madison Square Garden.”

“No way, this is actually happening!” an enthusiastic X (formerly Twitter) user posted.

“The greatest of all time has made his statement,” another person remarked.

“This sounds like nonsense,” a doubtful individual commented.

“This is the first time Jon Jones has ever seemed concerned about the legal aspects of anything,” a sixth fan joked lightheartedly.
