Kickboxing Rankings: August 2025 Updates

Each month, the Beyond Kickboxing board issues updated rankings for kickboxers across all weight classes, from Heavyweight to Flyweight, in addition to men`s and women`s pound-for-pound lists. This review highlights the performances of top athletes over the past month, as kickboxing continues its global expansion with promotions like GLORY, K-1, and ONE Championship, where fighters consistently strive to improve their standing in both media attention and official rankings.

This month saw no activity among the top 10 fighters in the following weight divisions: Heavyweight (+95 kg), Light Heavyweight (-95 kg), Welterweight (-77 kg), Super Bantamweight (-61 kg), and Women`s Strawweight (-50 kg).

POUND-FOR-POUND MEN

Yuki Yoza (ranked 9th) delivered another masterful performance with his calf kicks, almost securing a stoppage against Petchtanong in the second round before ultimately earning a hard-fought unanimous decision victory.

MIDDLEWEIGHT (-85 KG)

Ulric Bokeme (ranked 3rd) secured a unanimous decision victory over Fabian Lorito.

LIGHTWEIGHT (-71 KG)

Kacper Muszyński (ranked 6th) finished Chen Yonghui with brutal body shots in a 73 kg catchweight bout. Stoyan Koprivlenski (ranked 10th) knocked out Kubilay Tarhan in the second round with a spectacular jumping knee.

FEATHERWEIGHT (-64 KG)

Hirotaka Asahisa.

Hirotaka Asahisa (ranked 2nd) delivered a first-round knockout victory over Bryan Lang with powerful body punches. Taio Asahisa (dropping from 5th to unranked) exits the rankings after announcing his move to a higher weight class, where he recently secured his second win, defeating Danila Kvach by majority decision at 65 kg. Yuma Saikyo (entering the rankings at 10th), the recent winner of the Krush Lightweight Grand Prix, makes his debut.

BANTAMWEIGHT (-58 KG)

Takumi Terada.

Takumi Terada (ranked 1st) knocked out Angelos Kaponis with punches in the first round of their 59 kg catchweight bout. Shoki Kaneda (moving from 5th to 4th) secured a third-round knockout against Ginji with a high kick, having already scored two knockdowns in the previous round. This victory allows him to overtake Keisuke Monguchi (dropping from 4th to 5th), who has been without a win in this division for twenty months. Kyo Kawakami (ranked 8th) defeated Ryota Naito by unanimous decision.

SUPER FLYWEIGHT (-55 KG)

Rui Okubo (ranked 6th) delivered a first-round knockout victory over Shion with punches in their 56 kg bout.

Nili Block (dropping from 1st to unranked) exits the rankings following 18 months of inactivity. Lavinia Aronson (entering the rankings at 10th) makes her debut.

WOMEN`S FLYWEIGHT (-53.5 KG)

SAHO (ranked 2nd) successfully defended her K-1 52kg title, defeating Lara Fernandez by unanimous decision after scoring a knockdown in the second round.

WOMEN`S ATOMWEIGHT (-47.0 KG)

Aki Suematsu.

Koto Hiraoka (ranked 5th) secured a unanimous decision victory over Honoka Tsujii after an extension round. Mako Yamada (ranked 6th) defeated Minori Kikuchi by unanimous decision. Aki Suematsu (ranked 9th) also won by unanimous decision against Hiyori Onishi.
