Max Holloway’s Post-UFC 318 Reflections on Dustin Poirier Bout

The BMF champion, Max Holloway, recently shared his post-fight insights in a video.

Supported by his coaching team, Max Holloway emerged victorious in the main event of UFC 318 last Saturday.

Despite the New Orleans crowd largely backing his opponent, Holloway penned a sincere tribute to Dustin Poirier after the latter`s retirement.

This win was crucial for `Blessed,` allowing him to rebound from the first knockout defeat of his career, especially as he commits to remaining in the lightweight division.

While fans quickly began speculating about Holloway`s next move, his immediate thoughts after leaving the arena on July 19th were elsewhere.

Max Holloway`s Post-Fight Reflections from His Hotel Room on UFC 318 Night

Holloway released the concluding episode of his YouTube series, “Blessed Era: Countdown to Holloway vs Poirier,” on his official channel.

The video provided a behind-the-scenes look at `Blessed` preparing backstage, as well as his interactions with Dustin Poirier and others after their final encounter in the Octagon.

Following his appearance at the post-fight press conference, the footage concluded with Holloway and his family boarding a bus to their New Orleans accommodation.

A subsequent segment showed the BMF champion engrossed in watching a replay of the fight with his close friends and family.

Holloway wrapped up the series by sharing his concluding thoughts on the night while relaxing in a pool with his wife.

“I feel good. We aimed to be spoilers all week, and we achieved that. But fighting someone like Dustin Poirier in his final bout, it`s truly incredible. He`s not just a superb fighter; he`s an even better person. My utmost love and respect go out to him and his family. He brought this event back to his city and did it his way. Nothing but love and respect.”

Max Holloway`s Charity Proposition to Dustin Poirier

The behind-the-scenes footage revealed several exchanges between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier after their trilogy fight concluded.

During one such interaction, `Blessed` expressed his desire to collaborate with Poirier to support his charity, the Good Fight Foundation.

`The Diamond` proposed a joint effort to assist people in Holloway`s home state of Hawaii, to which the BMF champion hinted at a potential plan in their last recorded conversation.

“I want to give you guys my gloves. I`ll make sure to get them to you before I leave. Of course.”
