Nate Diaz Explains Why He Chose Jake Paul’s Event Over McGregor Fight

MMA veteran Nate Diaz is set to make his highly anticipated return to the octagon on May 16 in Los Angeles, USA. He will be featured in a major event promoted by Jake Paul’s MVP promotions, titled “Ronda Rousey – Gina Carano,” where he is scheduled to face Mike Perry.

This decision follows Diaz’s notable refusal of a potential matchup with Conor McGregor. Speaking in an interview with Theo Von, Diaz candidly revealed his reasoning for not wanting to face the Irishman at this particular moment in time: “I’m not going to finish off Conor, who is already barely breathing right now.”

By choosing a different challenge on Jake Paul’s card, Diaz appears to be allowing McGregor additional time for recovery, while simultaneously taking on a fresh opponent in Mike Perry for his much-awaited comeback.
