Paddy Pimblett Reacts to Ronda Rousey’s Special Praise

Paddy Pimblett is thrilled to receive commendation from a legendary figure in mixed martial arts. Ronda Rousey recently identified him as the singular UFC fighter who has successfully elevated his status to a new echelon of celebrity.

Speaking at New York Comic Con, the former UFC bantamweight champion emphasized the importance of fighters connecting with an audience beyond just those familiar with the sport. She stated, “That’s what I think really matters, that you can make people know who you are. People that don’t know fighting. And that is how you command the being-an-entertainer aspect.” Rousey further highlighted her appreciation for Pimblett, noting, “I think a lot of the fighters don’t realize that they’re also entertainers. The one person I think who really realizes that is Paddy Pimblett. And so I really appreciate that.”

Paddy Pimblett`s Future Fights

In April at UFC 314, Paddy Pimblett secured the most significant victory of his career, achieving a third-round TKO against Michael Chandler. Following Ilia Topuria`s capture of the lightweight title at UFC 317 in June, the rapidly rising lightweight contender entered the cage to confront him.

While the official announcement for Ilia Topuria`s inaugural 155lb title defense is pending, Pimblett appears to be one of two primary contenders. Justin Gaethje is the other potential challenger, and he has explicitly stated his intention to retire if he is not granted the next lightweight title opportunity.
