Paulo Costa Ends Azamat Murzakanov’s Unbeaten Streak with Devastating Head Kick Knockout at UFC 327

Paulo Costa marked a triumphant comeback to the Octagon at UFC 327, defeating the previously undefeated Azamat Murzakanov by knockout in the third round.

Murzakanov initiated the fight with aggressive pressure on Costa. However, “The Eraser” responded effectively with a series of damaging inside leg kicks. Mid-way through the first round, Costa accidentally landed an eye poke on Murzakanov, causing a brief stoppage. Fortunately, Murzakanov was cleared to continue after a short recovery and eye rinse.

Murzakanov persisted with his aggressive approach, a strategy that ultimately proved detrimental. As Murzakanov advanced, Costa appeared to connect with a right hand, sending the Russian to the canvas. Costa followed him down, landing a sharp elbow that inflicted a cut on Murzakanov.

Although Murzakanov managed to regain his footing, the damage sustained was significant.

Costa seemed to fatigue in the second round, allowing Murzakanov to ramp up his offense and re-enter the fight. However, the tide turned dramatically in the third round. An attempted block of one of Costa’s head kicks appeared to injure Murzakanov’s arm.

This opening prompted Costa to launch a barrage of head kicks. Soon after, Costa landed a decisive blow, knocking Murzakanov out and securing the victory.

Official Result: Paulo Costa defeated Azamat Murzakanov via KO (head kick) at 1:23 of Round 3.
