“Everything is going well, I feel fine. Since I didn’t sustain any injuries, I only took one week to rest. We've already restarted training, and I believe we’ll have news about an upcoming fight very soon.”

Just weeks after his championship win, Severino was asked about potential information regarding his first title defense:

“Yes, they’ve already indicated a possible date to me. If it works out, I’ll be signing the contract shortly. I’ve made it clear that I want to be a very active champion. So, I intend to move forward with their plans and fight as frequently as possible.”

The swift outcome of his championship bout seemed to surprise even Severino himself. While confident in his preparation, the Brazilian combatant had anticipated a five-round battle but secured an early second-round finish. Discussing the specifics of that matchup with Kakhorov, Igor Severino remarked:

“It was an excellent performance. I knew he was a dangerous striker, and we needed to be cautious defensively. However, I was always confident in what I brought to the octagon as well. I think it was an overall perfect performance. I managed to impose my game on him and secure the finish. I knew he would be a tough opponent, but our preparation for that fight was very thorough, and it showed.”

“Yes, that fight is definitely on my radar. He is a fantastic champion; he has successfully defended his belt and possesses a very impressive record. It also appears to be in the promotion's interest, given they are actively promoting it. From my side, if they offer the fight, it's already accepted. I would absolutely love to have this fight. It would be an honor for me. It’s a fight that genuinely excites me, considering his record and the skills he brings to the table.”

“Ultimately, whoever the organization signs as my opponent, I'm ready. I am a champion, and I must defend my belt to make history. That’s my goal. I want to defend my belt numerous times, and whoever they deem the deserving challenger, I'm prepared.”

“I am very content with how things are unfolding in my life right now. I simply want to fight more and more, be more active, and keep the momentum going. Last year, I had four fights canceled, so this year I want to make up for that. I’d love to compete three or four more times this year if the organization is willing. Fight more, earn more, stay active, and make history. That’s what I love to do. At least three more fights this year would be ideal for me. I'm already training and eagerly anticipating it.”
