Jake Paul Offers Jon Jones "Deserved Pay" Amid UFC Dispute
Jake Paul has weighed in on Jon Jones' current predicament after the UFC fighter was left off the UFC Freedom 250 fight card. Jones had previously relinquished his heavyweight championship last year and opted for retirement rather than facing then-interim champion Tom Aspinall. However, with the announcement of the UFC White House event, the former two-division titleholder promptly re-entered the testing pool, expressing immediate interest in competing on June 14.
For several months, rumors circulated that "Bones" would face Alex Pereira at the White House event. Yet, when the official bout list was revealed last weekend, Jones' name was conspicuously absent. Meanwhile, "Poatan," who has vacated his light heavyweight title to pursue championship glory in a third division, is now set to clash with Ciryl Gane for the interim 265-pound championship in the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250.
When questioned about Jones' exclusion from the card, UFC CEO Dana White stated that "Bones" was retired due to hip arthritis and denied that the company had ever approached him about fighting at the White House. Jones, however, has countered, alleging that he was in negotiations with UFC officials, but they presented him with an inadequate offer, consequently derailing his potential final fight, which could have taken place on June 14.
Unhappy with Dana White’s remarks, Jones has publicly requested his release from the UFC if the organization believes he no longer has anything significant to contribute.
Jake Paul Extends Invitation to Jon Jones for MVP
Jake Paul has made it clear that whenever Jon Jones becomes a free agent, he is eager to sign him to an MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) card for an MMA fight, promising Jones that he will be paid what he truly deserves. Following the recent press conference for the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano event, "The Problem Child" informed the media:
"Jon [Jones], you’re always welcome to come over to MVP. We’ll get you paid what you deserve."
MVP’s inaugural MMA event is scheduled for May 16. The main event will feature a five-round featherweight showdown between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, with a heavyweight co-main event pitting Francis Ngannou against Philipe Lins. This groundbreaking card will be streamed on Netflix, marking the streaming platform’s first-ever live MMA broadcast.
Having already secured prominent fighters like "The Predator" (Ngannou), "Rowdy" (Rousey), and Carano, among others, if Jake Paul’s MVP could potentially bring in Jones as well, a long-awaited confrontation between "Bones" and Ngannou could finally materialize, a prospect that fans are already eagerly anticipating.
