Recent concerns regarding the status of a prominent UFC fighter, who many believe is long overdue for a title opportunity, have now been addressed with new information.

Significant shifts are expected within the UFC`s welterweight division in the upcoming months.

For instance, Islam Makhachev`s coach recently discussed his potential move to welterweight, coinciding with Makhachev`s upcoming title bout against Jack Della Maddalena.

Additionally, Belal Muhammad is slated to return in November for a co-main event clash against Ian Machado Garry at UFC Doha.

Yet, another major fighter has been absent from the promotion`s plans throughout 2025 following a prolonged recovery period.

Shavkat Rakhmonov`s Re-injury Rumor Debunked

Fans had previously expressed dissatisfaction with Shavkat Rakhmonov`s stated intention to await a title shot, especially after securing a significant victory in his last bout.

Though Rakhmonov`s position seemed to soften, with speculation of his return against various contenders in early 2026, a recent rumor emerged suggesting a different scenario.

UPFRONT MMA reported on X (formerly Twitter) that 24KZ, a Kazakh digital news channel, had alleged that `Nomad` — referring to Rakhmonov — had re-injured the knee that previously required surgery following his UFC 310 fight.

This claim led to renewed criticism from fans, who anticipated an even lengthier absence for Rakhmonov.

Comments from fans included statements like: “He`s a bum and should be cut from the UFC,” “He`s the new Zabit [Magomedsharipov],” and “Wow, I pray this isn`t true.”

Fortunately, Dimash Tulegenov provided a reassuring update via vesti.kz, addressing the fan concerns directly.

Tulegenov reported that after contacting Rakhmonov`s manager, Sayat Abdrakhmanov, the rumor was confirmed to be false, with Abdrakhmanov stating, “everything is fine.”

Shavkat Rakhmonov`s Impressive Active Win Streak

Upon his eventual return, it remains uncertain how Shavkat Rakhmonov will reintegrate into the competitive welterweight division.

Given the upcoming bouts scheduled, the divisional landscape could significantly evolve before he makes his way back to the Octagon.

Nevertheless, with an impressive record of 19 consecutive victories, including seven within the UFC, Rakhmonov shares the distinction of holding the longest active winning streak in mixed martial arts.
