Tyson Fury`s cousin, James Dean Fury, encountered an awkward moment during his initial appearance in the media spotlight.
This young fighter is the latest member of the renowned Fury family to pursue a career in boxing.

The promising super-middleweight is the grandson of Jimmy Fury, who is the brother of trainers Peter and John, Tyson`s father.
James Dean Fury receives training from his great uncle Peter, but his specific relationship within the Fury family tree can sometimes lead to confusion – he is Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury`s first cousin once removed.
During a recent segment on Sky Sports News, an awkward exchange took place when the presenter attempted to clarify the fighter`s position in the famous boxing lineage.
The presenter asked James Dean directly: “Can you help me out here, as viewers will be wondering where you fit into the Fury family tree.
“So Peter is your trainer, but he`s also your great uncle, which means he`s your dad`s brother?”
James Dean corrected the host, explaining: “No, he was my grandad`s brother.”
Responding, the presenter said, “Your grandad`s brother? Help me out over here!”
James Dean began his amateur career in October 2021 and has compiled an 8-1 record across his nine bouts.
The 19-year-old`s sole defeat occurred in April 2024 against Oladimeji Shittu.
However, he has quickly bounced back with an impressive five victories within just two months.
He has already claimed three National Championships and a Box Cup title.
The young boxer holds significant ambitions and trains consistently, striving to master the distinct `Fury style`.
James Dean stated: “Of course there`s a Fury style, you know.”
“As I mentioned earlier, you have to be a Fury to perfect it. You know what I mean? It`s in the blood, isn`t it? And look, I`m training every day.”
“I`m keeping my head down, and I am completely focused and dedicated to achieving what I want in life and in my career.”
“And soon enough, everyone will recognize the name James Dean Fury. Because as soon as I turn professional, I will dominate the super middleweight division and challenge for everything.”
