Tyson Fury and his father, John, have returned to Manchester after attending Tommy Fury`s boxing comeback in Budapest.
Tommy, 26, made his return to the ring on Friday night, securing a victory over Kenan Hanjalic after an 18-month hiatus from the sport.
Both his father John and brother Tyson were present in Budapest to watch Tommy`s fight, where the former Love Island contestant called out Jake Paul following his decision victory.
Cameras captured John and Tyson upon their arrival back in the UK, amid ongoing speculation regarding `The Gypsy King`s` potential return from retirement.
Tyson, 36, had previously announced his fifth retirement from the sport in January, mere weeks after suffering his second successive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December.
However, the heavyweight champion now appears poised to reverse his retirement decision yet again, having recently taken to social media to challenge Usyk to a trilogy fight.
Meanwhile, father John also appeared to aim a jab at Usyk during Tommy`s fight on Friday night.
During the fight, Tommy was accused of landing a low blow on Hanjalic, which resulted in the Bosnian fighter going down.
As Hanjalic took time to recover on the canvas, John Fury seemingly criticized both the 27-year-old opponent and Usyk with a five-word remark, overheard saying: “He`s doing an Oleksandr Usyk”.
This comment appeared to be a reference to the widely discussed controversy during Usyk`s initial fight against Daniel Dubois in August 2023.
In that fight, Dubois knocked the Ukrainian down with a strike his team maintained was legitimate; however, the referee deemed it a low blow, allowing Usyk nearly four minutes to recover before he proceeded to win the bout.
However, Usyk may not necessarily be the opponent Tyson faces upon his potential return to the ring.
This is suggested by promoter Frank Warren, who stated he intends to speak with Tyson shortly, sparking renewed rumours about a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua.
“When he comes back from his holiday, we’ll talk. But I’m not going to call him about fighting. That’s going to be his choice. If he wishes to fight on, then fine. If he doesn’t, so be it. He’s been a magnificent servant for British and world boxing – a two-time world champion who’s done everything asked of him.”
He added: “It’ll be about whether Tyson wants to do it, and whether AJ wants to do it. AJ is still active and wants the fight – it’s the one that never happened. Everybody wants to see it.”
As for Tommy, he has once again challenged Jake Paul, seeking a rematch against the YouTuber-turned-boxer whom he previously defeated in February 2023.
Speaking in the ring after his Friday victory, he stated:
“Jake Paul’s a b***h and he’s running scared. Jake, the hand’s fixed now, baby. The hand’s fixed.”
“I fought a guy in here tonight who’s had over 100 amateur fights and is experienced as hell and he’s as tough as teak.”
“If Jake Paul wants to step inside this ring, I guarantee you next time I’ll knock you spark out.”
He also dedicated his victory to his girlfriend Molly-Mae, who recently confirmed their relationship is back on, during his post-fight speech.
He said:
“I just want to say thank you for this victory to the Lord Saviour Jesus Christ, without him, none of this would be possible.”
“I want to say hello to my beautiful baby girl, Bambi, at home. And my sweetheart, Molly. She’ll always be mine forever.”
“And I want to dedicate this to my mother and father because without them, I wouldn’t be breathing. I wouldn’t be here.”
“The reason I am here today is my mother and father. I will love them until the day I die and I owe them everything.”
