Tyson Fury Ramps Up Training Ahead of Potential Return

Tyson Fury has significantly ramped up his training as he prepares for a potential comeback to the boxing ring.

Known as the Gypsy King, he had previously announced his fifth retirement from the sport in January, just weeks after suffering his second consecutive defeat to the acclaimed pound-for-pound fighter, Oleksandr Usyk.

However, the heavyweight fighter from Wythenshawe made a predictable U-turn late last month, delivering an expletive-filled message directed at his two-time conqueror.

The 35-year-old has since been putting in serious work at the gym, having returned from a holiday in the Bahamas.

On Wednesday afternoon, the former two-time heavyweight champion shared a photo on his social media page showing himself, his father John, and cousin Ricky Gorman after a training session.

His caption accompanying the post read: “Great work today in gym 12 rounds of boxing with @gypsyjohnfury @ricky_gorman__ @gypsyprince.”

Many fans of the popular fighter commented on the post, expressing excitement about his return. Comments included phrases like “Coming back,” “He`s back!!”, “Man is back like a boomerang,” “One more ride. Let`s go,” and “Get up!”

A highly anticipated, long-overdue £300 million clash against fellow British star Anthony Joshua remains a possibility for Fury, a fight many thought was guaranteed before his recent retirement announcement.

However, this fight is unlikely to happen immediately, as Joshua is scheduled to undergo surgery to address a long-standing elbow injury.

When questioned about his own return to the ring, AJ told DAZN: “I`m trying to get my body right.”

“I have to have a small surgery on my elbow.”

“A small surgery sometime in May. I`m finalising the details.”

“That will keep me out of the gym for maybe six to eight weeks, and then when I`m healed, I will be back.”
