Tyson Fury’s Manager Hints at Comeback as AJ Nears ‘Amazing’ New Deal

Tyson Fury`s manager has indicated that a return to the ring is not entirely out of the question, particularly as Anthony Joshua is reportedly nearing a significant new fight deal.

Fury, known as `The Gypsy King`, made a surprising announcement of his retirement in January, just one month after suffering his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.

This retirement had seemingly put an end to the prospect of a massive all-British clash against AJ. Joshua himself recently faced a setback, being knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September.

Following his loss, Joshua underwent elbow surgery and is currently engaged in discussions with Saudi boxing figure Turki Alalshikh concerning a potential multi-fight contract.

Spencer Brown, who manages Fury and has connections with Alalshikh, shared his perspective with Boxing News:

“First of all, I think they’ve got to sign the deal first. That`s the most important part. What the Saudi Arabians are very good at is planning a course. A road, and they want to know what road it is.”

“And if they can get the road in the right place, then they’ll sign whatever deal you want as long as you’re happy and they’re happy with it. But they think forward.”

Commenting on Joshua`s imminent situation, Brown added:

“So, it’s a great move for Anthony Joshua, isn’t it? A three-fight deal. Amazing. Amazing. Tyson’s retired. Like I say, we never know though, do we?”

Brown also provided an update on Fury`s current lifestyle and condition:

“But he’s very busy at the moment. He’s actually in the best place I’ve ever seen him. He’s 12lbs above his fighting weight as well.”

“He looks really well. He’s happy. He’s got his kids with him constantly. Will he fight again? He’s the Gypsy King, who knows?”

Despite his recent loss, Joshua, aged 35, opted against pursuing a rematch with Dubois, 27. Dubois, meanwhile, is scheduled to face Usyk, 38, again on July 19th, two years after Usyk stopped him in their initial encounter.

Anthony Joshua`s promoter, Eddie Hearn, remains hopeful that Fury will ultimately decide to return to the ring for a highly anticipated fight against Joshua.

However, `The Gypsy King` himself offered a different perspective in May:

“I hear a lot of talk about the Gypsy King returning to boxing and I ask this question: for what?

“What would I return for? More belts? I`ve won 22 of them. I`ve been `rumped`, that`s it, fair play to them, they got their use out of me.”

“But I`m happy, I am happy, content with what I have achieved and accomplished. I`ve been around the world and back again.”

He concluded his statement on retirement:

“And this is what retirement looks like for the Gypsy King, not too shabby.”
