UFC Fighters Share Reactions to White House Event Announcement

Several prominent UFC fighters have shared their reactions after their participation was confirmed for the highly anticipated UFC Freedom 250 event, scheduled for June 14 at the White House. This historic fight night will feature six bouts, including two championship contests.

Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, and others react to being chosen for UFC Freedom 250

Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje are set to headline the event in a lightweight title unification bout. Topuria, who had anticipated being part of the event, quickly responded to the news, sending a cryptic message to Gaethje hinting at his undefeated record: “18-0.” Gaethje, who was present during the announcement, expressed his pride, stating he “kind of knew” and was “very proud.”

In the co-main event, Ciryl Gane will battle Alex Pereira for the interim heavyweight title. Gane conveyed his readiness through a series of emojis.

Sean O’Malley, initially surprised by his inclusion, revealed he had actively lobbied the UFC for a spot on the card to fight Aiemann Zahabi. He emphasized it was a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” portraying the match as “America vs Canada.” Zahabi enthusiastically shared his excitement for the fight across social media.

Bo Nickal, who had hoped to face Colby Covington, will instead compete against Kyle Daukaus. Nickal simply declared, “See you at the White House.” Daukaus articulated his feelings with the words: “Honored. Grateful. Undeniable.”

This unique event marks a significant moment for the sport, bringing top-tier mixed martial arts to an unprecedented venue.
