Official Refutes Ilia Topuria's Claims Against Justin Gaethje
One of the officials present at UFC Freedom 250 has responded to Ilia Topuria's accusations regarding Justin Gaethje's equipment during their fight.
Topuria recently suggested that Gaethje had something unusual inside his gloves during their bout, which Gaethje won by TKO. Topuria, who suffered his first career loss, appears to be seeking an immediate rematch.
Gaethje has denied these claims. Currently, there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by Gaethje or his team at the event.
While UFC executives have not commented, a top regulator addressed Topuria's allegations.
Justin Gaethje's Gloves Deemed 'Fine' by Official
In an interview with USA Today Sports, California State Athletic Commission executive Andy Foster stated that Gaethje's gloves and hand wraps were inspected and found to be compliant with regulations.
"His gloves and wraps were fine and totally within regulations," Foster said. "Also well inspected by multiple inspectors."
Gaethje is expected to attend UFC 331. Topuria has also been medically cleared to fight again, keeping a potential rematch on the table.
