Wang Cong: Natalia Silva is 'Toughest I've Faced' Ahead of UFC 332 Title Fight
Wang Cong sees UFC 332 as her chance to break through.
She's set to headline the event in Utah against Natalia Silva for the vacant women's flyweight title. Valentina Shevchenko vacated the belt due to injury, clearing the path for Cong and Silva to vie for it.
Cong enters the fight as the underdog but remains confident. She believes her striking outmatches Silva, predicting a stoppage win.
"I think my opponent Natalia is the toughest I’ve ever faced in the UFC. Her ranking says it all. She's great at managing distance and kicking. When it comes to her legwork, I think she’s particularly smart," Cong stated on UFC 332 Countdown. "Whatever she does, I can adapt. So I will definitely outstrike her on the feet. I think I control the fight better. I’m calmer and more composed. The main thing is to fight smart and secure the win. If she gives me an opening during the rounds, I’ll definitely finish her."
Silva presents the toughest challenge of Cong’s career, and a finish will be difficult. However, achieving it would mark a significant statement win for Cong, solidifying her claim to the championship.
Cong’s professional record stands at 10-1, with a 5-1 record in the UFC. She is coming off a decision win over Tracy Cortez, her most significant victory to date, positioning her as a legitimate contender for the flyweight title.
