Ukrainian heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs), who holds the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles, is reportedly considering kickboxer Rico Verhoeven as his next opponent. Verhoeven has only one professional boxing match to his credit, which took place back in 2014. Negotiations are currently underway with the WBA and IBF regarding the sanctioning of this unconventional matchup, which naturally raises questions among many experts and fans given Verhoeven’s limited boxing experience.
