Dave Allen achieved a spectacular knockout victory over Johnny Fisher at the Copper Box arena!
Known as the `Doncaster De La Hoya`, Allen delivered a devastating barrage of punches late in the fifth round, securing revenge against the `Romford Bull` after his unexpected defeat in their first meeting last December.
In their initial fight in Saudi Arabia, the 33-year-old Allen knocked Fisher down for the first time in his career, but ultimately couldn`t clinch the victory.
However, in this rematch, the situation was reversed.
Fisher appeared to take an early lead and seemed to be ahead on the judges` scorecards after four rounds.
But Allen seemed to be controlling the pace and in the fifth round, he unleashed a truly devastating sequence of punches that led to the stoppage.
With the score now tied at one win each, the question is whether they will face off for a third time?
Will there be a trilogy fight between Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen?
Following the fight, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn stated in the ring that the contract does contain a rematch clause.
However, Hearn added that a final decision regarding a third fight would be made “down the line.”
Allen himself didn`t seem eager for a third bout, particularly given the decisive nature of his victory over Fisher.
He said: “He’s my friend. He’s a very good friend of mine… I wouldn’t allow [a trilogy fight] to happen, because it’s not in his best interests.”
