Aaron Pico returned to the winning column at UFC 327, delivering a stellar performance against Patricio Pitbull in the night’s main preliminary bout.
The opening round was intense, with both fighters exchanging powerful strikes. Pico initiated with an attack to the head, while Pitbull focused on Pico’s lead leg. Pico secured a well-executed takedown in the center of the Octagon, but Pitbull quickly regained his footing and created distance.
Once back on their feet, Pitbull resumed his offensive, combining various strikes and landing a sharp jab that caused bleeding from Pico’s nose.
In the second round, Pico began to find his rhythm. He landed a damaging uppercut to Pitbull’s body and followed up with another successful takedown. Shortly after, Pico landed a powerful left hook that briefly dropped Pitbull.
As the second round neared its end, Pico landed another right hand before taking Pitbull down again and unleashing a series of brutal elbows.
Pico continued to control the fight in the third round, despite Pitbull finding some success in the clinch, landing several knees to the body. However, these efforts were not enough to significantly impact the judges’ scorecards.
Official Result: Aaron Pico defeated Patricio Pitbull by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
