Dana White Calls Jon Jones “Completely Unreliable”

UFC President Dana White has once again voiced strong criticism of fighter Jon Jones. Jones had expressed a desire to be part of the June 14th White House event. However, after his name was absent from the official bout list, Jones alleged that he was offered a lowball deal by the UFC management. He also claimed to have been in discussions for a fight at the White House, had undergone stem cell treatment for his hip arthritis, and was preparing to begin training camp. According to Jones, a subpar offer derailed these plans and prevented him from competing.

Jones subsequently suggested that if the UFC believed his fighting career was over, they should release him from his contract. Recently, Jones hinted at retirement but also kept the door open for future possibilities. For now, his focus is on supporting his protégé, Gable Steveson, as he prepares for his debut during International Fight Week. Dana White, however, has previously stated that Jon Jones’ participation was never even considered for the White House card. White believes Jones’ fighting days are over, with his hip arthritis being the decisive factor forcing him into retirement.

Dana White’s Latest Remarks on Jon Jones

In a recent interview with WFAN Sports Radio, White elaborated on the White House card. He explained that he had instructed the matchmakers to explore all potential matchups after contacting fighters. According to White, Jon Jones fighting on June 14th was never a viable option. He further stated:

“Jon Jones is completely unreliable. As much as Jon talks, Jon was not a possibility on the White House card.”

UFC President Dana White has once again sharply criticized fighter Jon Jones. Jones had expressed a desire to participate in the June 14th White House event. However, following the omission of his name from the official fight card, “Bones” alleged that he received a lowball offer from the UFC leadership. He also asserted that he was in negotiations to fight at the White House, had received stem cell treatment for his hip arthritis, and was on the verge of starting his training camp. A disappointing offer, he claimed, thwarted his plans and prevented him from competing.

Jones then indicated that if the UFC felt his career was finished, they should release him. More recently, Jones alluded to retirement while also leaving the door open for future developments. Currently, his attention is directed towards preparing his protégé, Gable Steveson, for his upcoming debut during International Fight Week. Dana White, on the other hand, has previously maintained that Jon Jones was never even in consideration for the White House card. White believes Jones’ fighting career has concluded, with his hip arthritis being the ultimate reason for him to retire.
