Gable Steveson’s UFC Debut Confirmed for UFC 329

Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has officially signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and is slated to make his professional MMA debut at UFC 329. The event is scheduled to take place during International Fight Week in July at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Steveson, a protégé of former UFC champion Jon Jones, boasts an impressive undefeated record in his nascent MMA career. The 25-year-old has competed in three professional bouts thus far, securing a first-round knockout victory in each. His most recent performance in February 2026 under the MFL banner saw him decisively defeat Hugo Lezama.

The announcement of Steveson’s signing was made during the UFC 327 broadcast. While a debut date and event have been confirmed, an opponent for Steveson has yet to be named. UFC President Dana White acknowledged during the post-fight press conference that finding an easy matchup for Steveson in the highly competitive UFC heavyweight division will be a challenge, and the promotion is still determining his debut opponent.

Steveson and Jon Jones were both present at UFC 327 when the news of his signing was revealed.

The UFC heavyweight division is currently experiencing a surge in exciting talent and memorable fights, with Steveson’s impending arrival adding to the division’s growing intrigue.
