Kyle Daukaus considered a psychological tactic with Colby Covington against Bo Nickal
Kyle Daukaus recently revealed his initial plan to employ mind games against his upcoming opponent, Bo Nickal, on June 14 by having Colby Covington accompany him to the octagon. However, the 33-year-old fighter has since abandoned this strategy.
Daukaus is scheduled to face Nickal at UFC Freedom 250. Prior to the official announcement of this matchup, there were circulating rumors suggesting that Covington might face Nickal instead. Nickal had also repeatedly called out “Chaos” for a potential showdown, even suggesting the White House as a venue. However, after the fight card was finalized, Nickal accused Covington of avoiding the bout.
The animosity between Bo Nickal and Colby Covington escalated following several critical remarks made by “Chaos” about Nickal during the RAF 05 press conference. Since then, Nickal has been eager to fight Covington and hold him accountable for his words.
However, it now appears that this highly anticipated fight may never materialize, as the 38-year-old fighter has announced his retirement from the UFC.
Colby Covington was open to walking out with Kyle Daukaus on June 14
“The D’Arce Knight,” who had considered using Colby Covington’s presence in his corner to provoke Bo Nickal on June 14, disclosed that “Chaos” had indeed agreed to walk out with him. Nevertheless, Daukaus later decided against the plan, and with “Chaos” now retired, the idea seems highly improbable.
During a recent interview with Home of Fight, “The D’Arce Knight” stated:
“I will come out and say that I actually did message Colby, and I was like, ‘Yo dude, what do you think to walking me out to the fight?’ Just to kinda like, get the fans liking it, get it in Bo’s head. He agreed to it, but I was like uhh maybe I’ll just back off of this a little bit… Now he is retired so it is what it is.”
