Following his TKO defeat to Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1, Nate Diaz has addressed speculation about his retirement.
Earlier tonight, Diaz faced Mike Perry in his MMA return and was significantly outmatched. The fight, which lasted two rounds, became a brutal contest for Diaz, whose scar tissue gave way to cuts above his eyes and across his face. By the end of the second round, after being knocked down by Perry, Diaz was visibly bleeding. His corner subsequently requested the stoppage upon assessing his condition.
Despite the heavy damage sustained at the age of 41, many fans urged Diaz to consider retirement. However, the fighter from Stockton has indicated no intention of stepping away from MMA and has already agreed to a rematch with Perry.
Mike Perry has also expressed willingness for a second bout, viewing it as a financially advantageous opportunity.
Nate Diaz Responds to Retirement Pressure: “The Show Goes On”
In a post-fight press conference for MVP MMA 1, Nate Diaz, despite the harsh defeat, made his stance clear to those advocating for his retirement. Diaz stated:
“I just fought the most violent mother f*cker right there. Maybe next time I’ll run a little harder and I’ll get the job done. Maybe I don’t fight the most violent, maybe I fight the second most violent… The show goes on. I don’t have a check-out time. This sh*t’s forever.”
Meanwhile, Jake Paul has already begun planning a potential rematch between Mike Perry and Nate Diaz 2, suggesting locations such as the Bay Area or Sacramento on X.
