UFC Commentator: Sean Strickland Has a Real Chance Against Khamzat Chimaev

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has expressed his belief that Sean Strickland stands a legitimate chance of defeating Khamzat Chimaev in their upcoming fight.

The main event of UFC 328 will see Khamzat Chimaev defend his middleweight championship against Sean Strickland. The rivalry between these two fighters has been brewing for some time, and their collision in the octagon is imminent.

While Chimaev is widely favored to win, Sean Strickland has a notable history of defying expectations and securing upsets. He famously defeated Israel Adesanya to win his only UFC championship to date, and he is expected to enter this fight with a “nothing to lose” mentality.

In a recent discussion, Joe Rogan elaborated on why he believes Sean Strickland has a strong possibility of winning in Newark.

Joe Rogan on Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland

“Sean has been talking a lot of trash,” Rogan stated on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” “He’s a wild character, and his trash talk is a form of psychological warfare. It’s reminiscent of what Conor McGregor used to do, similar to how Conor affected Jose Aldo before their fight, leaving Aldo highly emotional. Aldo was a legend.”

“Strickland is among the top fighters globally, as is Khamzat,” Rogan continued. “However, Strickland is also a legitimate world champion. He’s accustomed to five-round fights and possesses exceptional cardio. He’s one of the most elusive fighters in the sport to hit. He absolutely has a shot. His grappling is underestimated. Listen to me, as an alleged expert: his takedown defense is among the best in the business, and his grappling is underrated. Strickland has a genuine chance.”
