Dana White Delays UFC White House Card Reveal, Teases Conor McGregor
UFC President Dana White continues to hold back on disclosing the full fight card details for the highly anticipated June 14 event at the White House. However, his recent comments suggest that the inclusion of superstar Conor McGregor remains a strong possibility.
McGregor, known as 'The Notorious,' has been rumored for an octagon return for years, with fans eagerly awaiting an announcement, especially after his planned 2024 bout with Michael Chandler fell through. While speculation about his appearance at the White House event grows, White, as the UFC CEO, has consistently declined to unveil the official fight lineup.
Ever since the groundbreaking event was announced, intense speculation has surrounded which fighters will participate. White appears to be intentionally withholding the details, confident that the historic, "once-in-a-lifetime" nature of the occasion will generate sufficient excitement without additional promotional reveals.
"I'll announce the entire card this week," White affirmed. "The card is finalized. Yes, it's done. We've been incredibly secretive about it. You know those strategy boards in our 'war room'? This event isn't even on them. We're using a separate whiteboard, jotting down the fights, and then erasing them after each matchmaking session. Typically, these meetings happen every Tuesday, but for the past two and a half weeks, they've been daily."
Anticipation is high, and rumors continue to swirl regarding the elite fighters selected to compete on the historic White House South Lawn.
Many prominent fighters' names are still circulating in connection with the White House card. While Jon Jones and Alex Pereira are frequently brought up, Conor McGregor's potential involvement is arguably the most talked about. Although Dana White typically dismisses inquiries about fighters' upcoming bouts, he has notably kept the possibility of McGregor appearing at the White House event alive.
"We'll see," White concluded, "We'll see, brother."
