The fifth season of Road To UFC has commenced, providing a platform for emerging MMA talent from the Asia-Pacific region to vie for a spot in the tournament finals and a coveted UFC contract.
The initial stages of the bantamweight and featherweight tournaments are spread across two days, May 28th and May 29th, at the Galaxy Arena in Macau.
Day 1 of Road To UFC is set to be headlined by a special UFC bout featuring Victor Martinez, an alumnus of Dana White’s Contender Series, against the Chinese fighter Rongzhu in a catchweight contest.
In the co-main event, newcomer Yudi Cahyadi will face Bin Xie in a non-tournament featherweight bout.
Road To UFC: Season 5 Opening Round Day 1 Results
- Chungreng Koren defeated Ryuho Miyaguchi via rear-naked choke in Round 2 (4:00).
- YoungJae Song defeated Jin Aoi via rear-naked choke in Round 2 (3:39).
- Ryo Tajima defeated Ti Haitao via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-29).
- Rabindra Dhant defeated Kimbert Alintozon via TKO (ground and pound) in Round 2 (4:37).
- Dagiisuren Chagnaadorj defeated Regezhen via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29).
- Kasib Murdoch defeated Yunosuke Minami via arm triangle submission in Round 3 (3:46).
