Dana White Discusses Islam Makhachev's Potential GOAT Status After UFC 330

Following his victory at UFC 330, UFC President Dana White shared his perspective on Islam Makhachev's standing in the "greatest of all time" (GOAT) discussion.

Makhachev secured his 17th consecutive win within the promotion during the UFC 330 main event, surpassing Anderson Silva's previous record of 16 straight victories. His win against Ian Machado Garry was hard-fought, with Makhachev demonstrating resilience in overcoming challenges during the bout.

Throughout his mixed martial arts career, Makhachev has consistently faced and defeated top-tier opponents, rarely tasting defeat. This impressive track record has fueled debates about his place among the sport's legends.

Addressing Makhachev's GOAT potential, White commented, "If he didn't have that one loss on his record, it would almost be a no-brainer. This kid wants to fight all the time, stays active, and after what he did tonight, he talks about 3-4 more fights. So, I think what you do is you just let this guy’s career play out. It’s almost like what I keep saying about Zuffa Boxing, judge us at the end of this year, January of 2027. When Islam’s career is winding up, and starting to wrap up, you know, the more fights he keeps winning and the records he keeps breaking, it’ll all speak for itself."

The welterweight division is currently highly competitive, a reality that Makhachev is well aware of. If he continues to dominate contenders in this manner, his claim to a spot on the UFC's Mount Rushmore will become increasingly difficult to dispute.
