A fighter who once swapped the Muay Thai ring for a music studio is now set to headline a highly anticipated event.
Wanchainoi Pongsuphan PK will face Lao striker Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot in a strawweight Muay Thai main event at The Inner Circle 26, airing live from Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, August 14. The 25-year-old Wanchainoi stepped away from the sport during the COVID-19 pandemic to pursue a career in music, releasing an album and gaining a following through cover videos. After fulfilling his military service, he has now returned to full-time competition.
His return has been impressive, marked by three consecutive victories at Lumpinee Stadium. Notably, he secured a first-round knockout against Dokmaipa Santiubon at ONE Friday Fights 160, ending his opponent's four-fight winning streak and earning a performance bonus. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Petnamkhong is also on a strong run with three consecutive wins, including a second-round TKO victory over Tonglampoon FA Group at ONE Friday Fights 149, sending a clear message to the division.
Gingsanglek Faces a Style Clash at The Inner Circle 26
The co-main event will showcase a compelling clash of styles as Gingsanglek Wor Kumchamnarn, a seasoned PK Saenchai Muaythaigym technician known for his formidable left body kick in the bantamweight division, takes on ONE newcomer Dmitri Ramos. Gingsanglek, with a record of 45-13, enters the bout following a loss but boasts a recent three-fight winning streak, which included a bonus-winning spinning backfist knockout against Alexey Balyko and a TKO victory over Thant Zin.
Ramos, on the other hand, brings an undefeated record and a dangerous straight left punch, aiming to make an immediate impact in his promotional debut.
The August 14 card at Lumpinee Stadium will also feature three additional Muay Thai matchups. At lightweight, Petkhaokradong Lukjaomaesaithong will compete against Vadzim Shapiatsiuk. In the atomweight division, Bakjo Sitkhunma will face Petsuphan Por Prajansi, and Nongnuk Sor Dechapan is set to fight Saya Ito.
